If you are thinking about retiring we strongly encourage you to call STRS at 1-888-227-7877 and schedule an individual counseling session. STRS recommends making your first appointment THREE YEARS before you're planning to retire and setting up a second appointment 6-12 months from your retirement date.

THE DEADLINE for letting the district know of your intent to retire is MARCH 1st.
